Founder, Goldsmith Art Advisory
Wendy Goldsmith joined Christie’s 19th Century European Art department in London over 20 years ago, shortly after having received her Bachelors degree in Art History from Boston University. While at Christie’s, she travelled extensively through Europe and the Middle East, sourcing material for over 10 auctions a year, and contributed to Christie’s becoming the dominant auction house for buying and selling 19th Century European Art. After becoming Christie’s youngest Director and Auctioneer–taking auctions for a variety of departments over the years–she was transferred to New York where she was made International Head of 19th Century European Art. While in Manhattan, Wendy was responsible for achieving many of the world-record prices in this field.
In 2003, she returned to London where she is now established as a private art consultant from her Mayfair office, focusing on Impressionist, Modern and Contemporary paintings and sculpture. Her experience enables her to bring together buyers and sellers of major works of art thanks to her extensive experience with top collectors and institutions around the world.
